Classroom Assistant - Primary
The Classroom Assistant will work closely with a specific student to support their academic, organizational, and social development throughout the school day. Working under the guidance of teachers and the student support team, the assistant will aid the student in accessing the curriculum, maintaining engagement in learning activities, developing independence, and participating fully in school life. The role also includes supporting classroom routines, facilitating communication, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The position is for the 2026-2027 academic year with the possiblity of extension into future years. We offer a competitive salary that exceeds public-sector compensation levels for comparable positions, particularly for highly qualified candidates holding a university degree in a relevant area.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent English language proficiency and strong interpersonal skills. Candidates should be enthusiastic about working with children, have the ability to build positive relationships with students, and demonstrate patience, empathy, flexibility, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and personal growth. Strong communication skills, professionalism, responsibility, and a willingness to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other members of the school community are essential. Additional expectations include creativity, initiative, organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively in an international educational environment.
Preference will be given to candidates holding a university degree in education, psychology, special education, child development, social work, or another relevant field. Previous experience supporting students in educational settings is considered an asset.
The anticipated start date for this position is September 1st, 2026 and the contract would extend through June 30th, 2027.
